Interface NRM are proud to support the Telford Community First Responders

Telford Community First Responders is a life-saving partnership of volunteer emergency medical personnel who respond to calls for help in Telford. They work closely with the West Midlands Ambulance Service, providing fast response times and critical care to those who need it most. Their goal is to provide emergency medical care to individuals in the Telford area, within the first few critical minutes of an emergency either before an ambulance arrives on scene, or assisting on scene as required. This is a vital service that can save lives and reduce the impact of serious injuries.

This is especially true in cases such as cardiac arrest where defibrillation within 3-5 minutes of a collapse can produce survival rates up to 50-70%. However, with each minute of delay, the probability of survival reduces by 10%

The responder scheme operates purely on charitable donations with annual costs of around £7000 – £8000 just to keep them on the road. The volunteers themselves also work tirelessly organising fundraising events for the scheme.

Chris Bryan, Vice Chair of the Telford Community First Responders, has recently completed a 20-mile walk from Coalport to the Donnington Ambulance Station, visiting each defibrillator site along the way in an attempt to raise more funds and awareness.

As an Employee Owned Trust, and as part of a staff-led initiative this year, we have collectively decided to support this very worthy cause by donating £1000.

We hope that this donation will help the TCFR continue their essential work, but we also hope it may serve as an inspiration to other organisations in the local area to support the team, so that they can continue their crucial work, saving lives and continuing to make our community a safer place.

We would also like to thank Chris for taking time out of his busy day today and dropping by to visit us. It was great to see the responder car and learn more about the vital service you all provide.
