VRA Certification

VRA Certification, the Vehicle Recyclers’ Association Standard for Reclaimed Parts from End-of-Life Vehicles.

Interface NRM are one of currently only two certification bodies approved by VRAC to offer certification to the VRA Standard. VRAC are a not-for-profit organisation, the sole purpose of which is to manage and develop the UK’s Vehicle Recycler Certification Scheme.

The VRA Certification Scheme aims to standardise vehicle recycling within the UK and ROI, separating the professional vehicle recyclers from the historic scrap yards. The scheme gives recycler’s customers the peace of mind that they are purchasing quality assured parts off a company operating legally.

Key aims of the standard are to ensure:

compliance with relevant legislation; and

that recyclers are accurately identifying, recording, testing, and removing parts.

If you’ve been on eBay recently, you’ve probably noticed the VRA Certified logo appearing more and more. The knowledge that you have been externally certified, granted by the logo, means customers are more likely to choose you when looking for parts. The use of the logo is reserved for certified recyclers only.

VRA Certification has become the gateway to eBay’s Business-to-Business portal for trading reclaimed vehicle parts. The platform allows recyclers to trade “green” or certified parts with insurance body repair shops and garages across the UK. These are businesses who wouldn’t use recycled or reclaimed parts usually, but with the VRA Standard ensuring parts are properly sourced, this has opened the door to a whole new market venture for recyclers and repairers alike.
