Carbon Verification

Climate change and the climate crisis are currently amongst the most significant and talked about issues. The UK Government has firmly committed to achieving ‘net zero’ carbon emissions by 2050, meaning that there will be a balance between the carbon emitted into the atmosphere, and the carbon removed from it. This provides a huge driver for reducing carbon emissions in all business activities. Over 70% of local authorities & councils have committed to Net zero and they are changing their tender documentation to require a carbon reduction plan and/or carbon certification. Hundreds of businesses are doing the same.

The need to become ‘carbon certified’ is increasingly clear for UK businesses, whatever their size. How best to approach this, and what to do, is often less clear. To address this, we have services to support you:

A half-day session to introduce you to the requirements for carbon reduction, carbon neutrality and net zero, and a practical path for carbon management planning.

PAS 2060 is an internationally recognised standard for carbon neutrality, and certification provides independent verification that you meet the requirements of PAS 2060.  The gap analysis reviews what your company has already got in place and what it needs to do to meet the requirements of PAS 2060. We will examine how you are measuring and assessing green-house gas emissions, how you plan to reduce your emissions, your off-setting plans, and discuss statements and public disclosure. We will provide you with a report detailing potential non-conformities.

Verification by Interface NRM gives your organisation carbon-related claims increased credibility and trust. The audit has two stages: a desk assessment to review your emissions data and carbon management planning; and an on-site audit to validate your approach and review off-setting and disclosure.

ISO 14064 is a standard used to validate and verify your quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals, and your greenhouse gas statements. An ISO 14064 gap analysis reviews your existing GHG management system, identifying any gaps you may have with meeting the requirements of the ISO 14064 standards. We will provide you with a report detailing potential non-conformities and how these can best be addressed.

Certification against ISO 14064 involves the validation and verification of your GHG emissions: effectively carbon footprint verification. On successful certification, we provide an assurance statement confirming your emissions statement and claims, providing third party audit credibility.
