ISO 9001 Design and Manufacturing Staveley and Sheffield
Recently one of our auditors Tim conducted a Stage 2 audit on a design and manufacturing company. They have 2 sites the first of which is in Staveley and the second in Sheffield. They are experts in dewatering solutions for above and below ground and offer a range of slurry & abrasive pumps.
Tim mentioned on his return to the office that they may be willing to provide us with a certification case study.
Following on from this I contacted Bill who has been kind enough to provide us with the following information on the service they received from Interface NRM.
Who are Atlantic Pumps?
‘Atlantic Pumps was founded in 2014 and has seen significant growth every year since then. Managing a larger company requires better systems and structures, otherwise customer service will suffer. We saw ISO 9001 certification as primarily an opportunity to bring our processes up to a new level. To lead to improved customer service throughout the company, and of course, having this recognised by an international standard.’
Why did you choose Interface NRM for your ISO 9001 Certification?
‘We chose a consultant to help us through the process, and he recommended we use Interface. This was a good choice as Interface has been very easy to deal with and they have assisted us in achieving the certification.’
How have you found that ISO 9001 has been of benefit to your business?
‘Since obtaining certification we have had a situation where a customer said they had a substantial order to place with us. However, they wanted to check we had an ISO 9001 certificate before placing the order!
We introduced the concept of ISO 9001 at an All Staff Meeting. Getting an understanding of the benefits has made it easier to introduce improvements as part of the ISO process.’
