UKAS Newsletter November 2020

UKAS Newsletter November 2020

The UKAS Newsletter November 2020 has recently been published.

What does the newsletter include?

The first article talks about Brexit and UKAS Accreditation. UKAS has previously published information on this. However, they have now provided an update on this information. Here you can read the full update.

The next article talks about COVID-19. We’ve all had to adapt to changes this year and one of these changes is the introduction of more remote auditing. Interface NRM has been conducting remote audits to ensure the continuation of certification for our current clients. Also to enable new clients to obtain certification which means they are able to apply for tenders/new business opportunities. You can also read the full UKAS continues to stand up to COVID-19 article.

UKAS celebrates it’s 25th Anniversary. In 2020 UKAS has celebrated its 25th Anniversary as the sole National Accreditation Body for the United Kingdom.

Who is UKAS and why are they so important?

Firstly UKAS is the only Accreditation Body recognised by government to assess Certification Bodies against internationally recognised standards that assure the Certification Body is fit for purpose.

Secondly, without UKAS Accreditation the competence of the Certification Body is not known by their prospective customers.

Using a non-accredited body could leave you open to a competitive disadvantage, lost sales, and internal inefficiencies.

You can find out more about this in the UKAS Why risk it? publication on our website.
