Changes affecting FSC® and PEFC

There are a number of Changes affecting FSC® and PEFC certification in 2022.

PEFC

Firstly as of 1st January 2022, Interface NRM will be auditing to the new set of PEFC standards. PEFC ST 2001:2020 PEFC Trademarks Rules – Requirements and  PEFC ST 2002:2020 Chain of Custody of Forest and Tree Based Products – Requirements. Copies of both of these standards can be found on our website.

Secondly how we calculate your AAF is changing. There are new requirements that Interface NRM as the Certification Body must enforce. The information we now need to gather from you in order to calculate your AAF is Company Revenue, Forest Products Turnover, and Financial Year start and end dates. In addition to this, we will also require a completed Turnover Declaration Form from you prior to your main assessment taking place.

We will no longer be issuing paper Trademark Licence Agreements for single sites. Once you have chosen Interface as your Certification Body, you will be sent an invitation link to electronically sign the new TLA. For existing Certification Holders, once you reach the point of reassessment you will then be sent the invitation to complete the TLA.

Here you can also find further information on how to initiate and sign the new TLA.

Group and multisite certificates will continue to use the paper Trademark Licence Agreements until further notice.

Lastly the FSC Core Labour Requirements – Self-Assessment. This represents the fundamental change in FSC from 40-004 V3-0 to V3-1. Interface  NRM must now provide this information in advance of an audit taking place. Details about the Self-Assessment process can be found in the FSC-STD-40-004 V3-1 EN Chain of Custody Certification standard.
