Grassroots
Interface NRM has since its inception been a sustainably focused company. The founders of Interface, Dr Gavin Jordan and Mike Greenland, were heavily involved in the timber trade for their entire careers; they came together in 2002 to incorporate Interface NRM upon returning from volunteering in Africa and climbing unclimbed mountains in the Himalayas. They set up the company in the West Midlands as an ethically driven business, with the aim to increase the sustainability of wood being used in the UK, and to improve the environmental, social, health and safety performance of forestry, wood-processing, paper and construction companies.
Accreditation
The founders moved through consultancy and training to certification over the course of 15 years, picking up valuable insights that moulded our helpful approach to certification and has lead to the diamond standard of service we offer today.
Certification services have been accredited by UKAS and Assurance Services International GmbH respectively now since 2016, with the scope of our accreditations growing and other standards and accreditations being added along the way as the needs of our clients have evolved.
